Leduc Square Dance will host a STARS BENEFIT DANCE in Leduc on Saturday February 22nd, at 6:45 at Telford House (4907-46 St.). The dance will be open to the public, with admission by donation. The Club promises a lively night dedicated to a great cause, with International Caller Gary Winter leading the fast-paced tunes and moves and providing an easy but exciting introduction for newcomers.
"This will be our 23rd STARS benefit dance," notes club president Tom Gray, "and STARS records indicate that our donations have totalled over $33,500. Last year's donation was $3,141. We think that's impressive for a relatively small group, and we thank all the dancers and members of the public whose generosity has enabled us to achieve that. We also thank the board of the Leduc and District Seniors Centre, who have generously waived the rent at Telford House for the event, allowing the club to donate that money to STARS."
STARS Shock & Trauma Air Rescue Society is a cause dear to our hearts, as several of our members have been impacted by its life-saving missions. People who want to donate to ‘the cause’, perhaps never having had the opportunity to do so, will be welcomed with open arms and can look forward to some great music and atmosphere, even if they stop by for only a short visit… Friends can also donate via the STARS website: https://stars.ca/event/dancing-for-the-stars/
